This assignment asks you to collect sources that you will use to write your research essay. Cite each source in a MLA style citation; under each citation write a summary paragraph in your own words. The Annotated Bibliography prepares your research to be done in week 10 so that you have from week 10 to week 12 to write your research essay. You may write about any topic in relation to Bishop’s literature. Pursue something you are curious about.

Topics are open. Please find books and articles that help you to develop something about Bishop that interests you. You could either do research with a topic in mind, or you could just start reading secondary sources and see what peaks your interest. The Toronto Public Library has a lot. Bishop’s Prose and Letters might also provoke your research. Your essay could end up being a combination of primary Bishop sources, along with a little secondary source criticism; or, it could be a little primary Bishop with a lot of secondary source integration.

As long as you include at least one primary and one secondary source, then you are fulfilling the essay requirements. The length is approximately 1,000 words, but you can go up to 2,000 words if you think it will help you submit a great paper.
