Joel Chandler Harris and Mark Twain

should focus on two works by the two authors I chose. I have attached a proposal i have written on which you should follow.

quote poetry as poetry using back slashes for line breaks or retyping the lines exactly as they appear on the page and indenting and single spacing them

The two authors I have chosen to write my term paper on are Mark Twain and
Joel Chandler Harris. I chose these two authors because I like their writing styles. In
this term paper I will compare and contrast the similarites and differences between
Twain and Harris. I will included a little bit of information about both authors lives to
give the reader a better understanding of who they both were. The questions I will
address in my term paper are: 1) Explain both authors writing styles

2) When reading
both authors stories, did it pull you in ? Make you feel like you were also in the story?
3) Who were each author’s influenced by ? 4) What was both authors most famous
works ?
The works I will study to help answer some of these questions about both of
these amazing and very talented authors are “Jim Smiley and His Jumping Frog”, “A
True Story” by Mark Twain and “The Wonderful TarBaby
Story, “How Mr. Rabbit Was Too
Sharp for Mr. Fox” and “Free Joe and the Rest of the World” by Joel Chandler Harris. I
chose these five specific works because these are the ones that I read in class and of all
the stories I have read by both authors, these happen to be my favorite of the bunch.
These five stories will help me to answer these four questions so that you and I both can
better understand each author’s personality and visions for their stories.
