Today’s organizational cultures require highly functioning self-managed teams. In today’s organizational cultures it’s important that working teams have the autonomy to identify organizational challenges, are empowered to establish strategies for dealing with those challenges, and then are accountable for the outcomes of their actions.

This requires a much higher level of team autonomy and sophistication than existed in earlier times, when work and workers were less sophisticated and high functioning. Since this is so important in today’s organizational culture, consider your readings and describe in detail the qualities that are necessary for a team to be highly functioning, self-managed, motivated, and focused on organizational goals.
